Playa d’en Bossa’s Beachouse, Ibiza
The Beachouse on Playa d’en Bossa in Ibiza is tucked away at the far end of this long white sandy and very popular beach, but if you want to dine here, make sure you book, it’s mighty popular and rightly so, the food is sublime.
The Beachouse from the beach looks stylish and chic, the large day beds with soft fluffy towels and palm-fringed sunshades are a draw, you won’t want to stop at any other beach club, it’s definitely the smartest on this beach, in my humble opinion of course.
Before we had a couple of sun-drenched hours on our frontline daybed we enjoyed the dining, and it was more than ‘fine’.
You can dine outside at your daybed, at a table inside the open-air restaurant or a little further inside where it’s a little cooler. The decor is typically Ibizan with comfortable pale shades on the soft furnishing, a variety of textures and stylish solid wood tables.
The waiting staff were eager to please for all of the Beachouse diners and were super friendly and really looked like they loved their jobs at Beachouse. We decided to eat inside where it was beautifully cool, but we still had a fab view of the entire beach club and beach.
We began our culinary experience with a chilled bottle of rosé, but to ensure we didn’t dehydrate in the scorching afternoon sun we also had a large bottle of water. We stayed at our table for a good couple of hours, we enjoyed the cuisine, but also the company of our fellow diners, who were also enjoying some fabulously delicious-looking dishes too.
At the heart of the Beachouse philosophy, you’ll find simple, rustic and authentic Mediterranean fare, the dishes and drinks are prepared with the greatest attention to detail, using only the highest quality ingredients, locally sourced whenever possible. Head chef Ezequiel Brazfrom impeccable taste and commitment to excellence are the forces that drive him and his dedicated team to produce consistently outstanding food.
We decided to choose a variety of starters followed by a freshly prepared whole seabass. So to start with we had Hummus, vegetable crudités, homemade pitta bread, Mussels Marniere and Lebanese bread, Ibiza tomatoes, feta cheese, tahini sauce, pesto. The presentation was great, lovely rustic dishes, artistically prepared and aromatic, everything was divine, fresh and tasty, we love sharing and this was a perfect way to begin this wonderful feast.
We had a little break before our seabass, but once it arrived, it produced gasps from surrounding diners and envious looks. The waiter did the most amazing job of de-boning and presenting the fish, and the slow roast vegetables that accompanied it were delicious.
We were enjoying ourselves so much, wining, dining and socialising with the diners on tables next to us we didn’t notice how time had slipped away, finally, we indulged in some gorgeous desserts, but kept it light, so just a few scoops of tangy sorbet, clearing our palettes perfectly.
Music is one of the main pillars of Beachouse – through it the raw spirit of Ibiza is experienced, allowing the island’s energy beneath your skin.
Beachouse champions a community of local and international DJs, whose great vibes become the soundtrack to your long, lazy days here, creating a truly immersive experience.
We said our goodbyes to the friendly diners and spent the next few hours on the daybed, enjoying the sun, the music and people watching.
Beachouse is a very cool and sophisticated beach club, the views, staff, food and club were superb, this was a very special day for us, one etched on our memories for a very long time, we hope to return in the not too distant future.
