WHAT WILL BE FASHIONABLE IN WINTER 2021 AND 2022? 5 FASHION TRENDS STRAIGHT FROM THE CATWALKS

As the year comes to an end, we wonder what will be fashionable in the winter of 2021/2022 and has not yet found a place in our wardrobe. The atmosphere in shopping malls puts us in a Christmas mood. It is time to start preparations for Christmas and take care of a cosy, protective and fashionable wardrobe. We have looked at what trends dominated the catwalks announcing fashion for winter 2021 and 2022.

What will be fashionable in winter 2021 and 2022?

1. Fashionable dresses for winter

We can’t go around in lightweight silk dresses in cold temperatures, but there are some interesting models that can be put on the hot list of favourite clothes for winter with a few clever tricks. Just play around with your choice of tights and shoes.
The dominant colour of dresses is green in various shades, black and beige, cream or white. The classic dress is suitable not only for winter trips to the opera, just the right play of accessories such as lace or a bedspread and we have a stylish outfit for everyday life. Knitted midi dresses, which emphasise the female figure, are also in vogue.

2. Faux fur

Faux fur can be worn as a wardrobe accessory or as a key element of a wardrobe and is featured in Givenchy, Prada, Fendi, Balenciaga and Miu Miu. Combining leather elements with faux fur will be fashionable this winter. Both long and short hair dominated the catwalks. Two trends emerged from the catwalks: fawn colours (beige, camel, chocolate) and bolder bright colours (turquoise, purple, green and red).

3. Quilting

Quilting doesn’t have to be associated with a down jacket worn for a trip to the mountains. This year, this solution was proposed by many designers. We can find it, among others, at Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Marc Jacobs, Dior, Michael Kors, Lacoste shows. Quilted wardrobe in military or hunting colours such as khaki and camel is in vogue, while other designers are using bold colours and silver. Bold styles in metallic colours inspired by space exploration are sure to be a hit.

4 Leather

A leather winter wardrobe is certainly a great alternative to down coats or jackets. Leather is a wonderful material that adds a chic touch to any look. Celine, Fendi, Simone Rocha and Salvatore Ferragamo, among others, presented leather clothing. Leather appears in retro, classic and sporty styles in black or chocolate colours, but also in coloured and even metallic versions. Combine leather with faux fur for a great effect.

5. Pleated skirts

The pleated skirt trend continues. Both narrow and wide pleats are in fashion this season. Midi skirts inspired by the classic or bourgeois 70s are predominant, as are schoolgirl versions of the checked miniskirt, a nod to the film Clueless and the 90s. Pleated skirts have appeared on the catwalks of designers such as Celine, Max Mara, Ami and Dior in many different colours.

According to the forecasts, the coming winter is going to be long and cold, so the right shawl should be an integral part of any outfit. Fashionable shawls will be colourful, laconic black off-white or the graceful colour of a mist over the sea. Add a Jackie O style head scarf, balaclava or beret and inseparable short or long gloves.
