Bugatti Grand Tour 2024 in Morocco was not just about driving a great car

Bugatti Grand Tour 2024 in Morocco was not just about driving a great car

The Bugatti Grand Tour 2024 in Morocco was a celebration of automotive artistry, a journey that transcended the ordinary and transported us into the extraordinary. From the glistening shores of the Mediterranean to the golden expanses of the Sahara. Under the patronage of Royal Highness King Mohammed VI, the 2024 Grand Tour took selected Bugatti owners on a journey through the inspiring landscapes of Morocco. From smooth and scenic coastal roads to majestic mountain passes and enchanting deserts. The tour combined natural beauty, architectural splendour and local gastronomic splendour. Drivers navigated through bustling cities and picturesque towns, all while thrilling behind the wheel of their Bugatti.

Starting at the Royal Mansour Tamuda Bay, we were greeted with refined elegance. A combination of traditional Moroccan design and modern sophistication, the hotel served as a gateway to the vibrant beauty of North Africa. Against the backdrop of the green hills, we took a souvenir photo, where our Bugatti shone like jewels in the sun.

A convoy of thirteen exceptional hypercars, including the legendary Veyron and the record-breaking Chiron Super Sport 300+, which reaches speeds of over 480 km/h, set off on a tour that would showcase the uniqueness and diversity of Morocco. With the engines singing in concert, we glided along coastal roads where the Mediterranean and the Atlantic seemed to merge and their waves whispered ancient secrets to the rocky shores.

Among other places, the journey took us to Chefchaouen, the iconic Blue Pearl, where narrow, winding streets, bathed in shades of indigo, offered a peaceful break. From there, we headed south to the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Driving into the Atlas Mountains, our Bugatti encountered rough terrain, a striking contrast to their smooth, aerodynamic shapes. In this majestic mountain range, nature shows its most varied faces. The peaks, covered in snow, contrast with green valleys, full of terraced fields and villages that seem suspended in time. Mountain streams meander among the steep slopes, creating oases of lush vegetation. At higher elevations, the landscape takes on a harshness, with rugged cliffs and deep gorges that are breathtaking. The silence and tranquillity of these mountains, interrupted only by birdsong and the sound of the wind, make the Atlas Mountains a place where natural beauty meets spiritual harmony.

Descending from the heights, the convoy approached the vast desert landscapes of southern Morocco. The shifting dunes and rocky plains of Erfoud provided a dramatic backdrop for the sleek vehicles, and their engines seemed to disturb the timeless silence of the Sahara. An overnight stay under a canopy of stars made the harsh landscape feel closer and more welcoming.

The trip culminated in a ride along the winding roads of the Dades Gorge, a natural masterpiece of high cliffs and winding rivers. The Serpentine Road, a test of precision and skill, highlighted the unparalleled engineering of Bugatti’s creations, combining thrill and artistry in perfect harmony.

The journey ended in Marrakech, a city bursting with life and colour. We visited the Jardin Majorelle and the Musée Yves Saint Laurent, immersing ourselves in Morocco’s rich artistic heritage. We said goodbye at the Mandarin Oriental, where memories of the adventure were celebrated with exquisite cuisine and fine wine.

The Bugatti Grand Tour in Morocco was more than just a ride – it was a symphony of speed and culture. A tale of discovery and a testament to the relentless pursuit of excellence.
