SHERATON GRAND LONDON PARK LANE, THE PERFECT STAYCATION FOR YOU AND YOUR POOCH
If you are planning a stay at a luxury hotel in London, for example, and are not travelling alone but with your four-legged friend, the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane will provide the perfect stay for you and your pet.
The Sheraton Grand Hotel on Park Lane in London exudes glamour and sophistication, reminiscent of 1920s Art Deco style. The hotel is located opposite Green Park, the perfect place to walk your four-legged friends, who are extremely welcome, not to mention pampered, at this chic and classic hotel.
We were invited with our fur ball, Hero, a very well behaved and gorgeous Cockapoo, to enjoy an overnight stay with dinner and breakfast in one of the beautifully designed suites. We checked in and were led to our suite on the 6th floor. Hero was given a bag full of treats, his own soft toy, food bowls and a huge and soft fluffy bed, not that he used it – he slept with us on our equally huge and comfortable bed! Our suite was just perfect, with views of Green Park and The London Eye in the distance, the use of space was thoughtful and included a small sofa, desk, free WiFi, tea and coffee tray, mini bar and of course the large marble bathroom, we were extremely comfortable.
We felt envious of those clients who enjoyed the sumptuous traditional cream tea at the Palm Court, with its magnificent stained glass ceiling, marble floor and original bar, but you can’t indulge in cream tea and dinner at the same time, so we opted for dinner, within the Smith & Whistle bar. This bar serves delicious cocktails and craft beers, as well as ‘dogstails’. Hero had a great time, there were other well behaved dogs there too, all absorbing the attention of the bar staff as did the specially prepared ‘dogstails’. There were three “dogstails” to choose from – Poochie Colada, Hound’s Hops and Posh Pooch, presented in appropriately sized bowls.
The menu was simple but perfect, we started with fresh tomatoes on Bruschetta, followed by spicy pizza and chicken Milanese and finally sorbet. We enjoyed every minute of it and ended the evening with a walk around Green Park to burn off some calories and let the pooch sort out his needs. We then headed back to our suite, slipped into our fluffy white bathrobes and watched some TV before enjoying a wonderful night’s sleep in probably the most comfortable bed I’ve slept in for a long time. The hotel is quiet and safe, with helpful and prompt room service if needed.
The next morning my husband was up early feeling rested and spent an hour in the hi-tech gym. Hero and I met him for breakfast, which was delicious and the coffee was excellent. After breakfast we took a walk around Green Park and within five minutes we were in front of Buckingham Palace, just in time to see the Changing of the Guard – a spectacle well worth watching. The hotel is close to many boutiques, theatres, bars, cafes and restaurants, there’s plenty to do and see, and when you’re feeling completely exhausted, what better place to recuperate than your suite at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane?
